The calm before the storm

Last weekend my parents came out and helped us get Conway's room in order. We went through a million pounds of baby clothes, did laundry, hung up shelves and got everything squared away.

Here are the final photos.

Bookshelf and storage. Note the super awesome punk dolls on the shelf. They were mine from when I was little. They are even pierced!

The rocking chair and decals

Now that the room is done things are a bit more calm. I'm just going to doctor appointments, checking my blood pressure and waddling through the days.
Baby is very active. Very. Very. Can't stress "very" enough. She used to wake up in the morning then nap the day away until 3ish. Now she is up with the birds and moving all day and night. She has been using her arms a lot more lately too.
Hopefully we will have more info about where we stand after our Tuesday doctor appointment!

The nursery is ready - just add baby

After months of deliveries, trips to baby stores all over town, a visit from future-grandparents and some serious nesting, the nursery is ready for a baby. A big relief and we're happy with how it turned out. The room seems bigger than before and is certainly more ready for a tiny person.

We'll add some normal pics of the room, meanwhile, here is a fancy version that lets you click around and check it out:

The room

As promised here are some pictures of Conway's room.

These are the decals we put up.

Mak is a good helper.

The final product.

I think I mentioned before that we got Conway a print while we were in New Orleans. We got it framed and picked it up last weekend. It has yet to find a spot on the wall, but here it is.

What a week it's been!

Brett and I had our first childbirth class this week. We signed up for the "special" class with a woman who is a local expert. She is 71 and has been teaching this stuff since 1968. Experience has to count for something, right? It is an 8 week class that covers birth, relaxation techniques, breastfeeding and infant care. She even gives us homework.

Conway is doing well. She is moving a ton! I'm sure space is getting tight for her in there, but she's finding the strength to make room when she needs it. She is also active for more of the day and for longer periods of time. Looks like our little girl is really growing up!

Moving right along

Since the baby shower we have been in go-mode for everything baby. Friday night we went out for our last "fancy" dinner for a while. We went to Rover's with some friends and had a lovely long dinner. Saturday we got a ceiling fan for baby's room, got some wall decals to decorate with, got baby's dresser and put that together, ordered some necessities, and picked up a few more gifts that people sent. I also got a pregnancy massage on Saturday that was wonderful. To be able to fall asleep on my belly because of their special cushions - it was a true joy. I actually would have paid the same amount of money just to be left to sleep there without the massage part. But don't get me wrong, the massage was blissful. Sunday we had our maternity photoshoot. It was tons of fun and the pics should be edited in a couple of weeks. We'll see if a pro can make my belly look any smaller!

Other than that we are moving along as best we can. We are tying to act like the baby is coming in 4 weeks rather than 8 just so we are prepared. And based on everyone's reactions to my current size this week, I'm guessing I'm looking like 4 weeks is a possibility.

Conway's Shower

As most of you know we were home in Lancaster for our baby shower this weekend. It was WAY too short of a trip, but it was fun. We'd like to thank everyone for coming from far and wide to celebrate Conway with us.

Brett took a lot of pictures. Here is a link to the photos: Conway's Shower

Since we got home we have been in nesting overdrive. Conway's room had to remain a guest room up until this weekend since our dog watcher stays there. Now that there are no more long distance travels before baby we can make it a baby's room. More pics coming once the room starts to come together!
