Rainboots

Hard to believe, but Mabel is almost a year and a half old, lives in Seattle, and just got her first pair of rain boots.

Romping at the dog park, shortly after the rain boots had fallen off in a puddle. Undeterred.

Perfect 10

Today M and I went to a new spot to play - the Seattle Gymnastics Academy. There are a few locations around town, but one just opened up not too far from us. They have open play time for kids 6 months - 5 years old so we went today. It was fantastic. The space is huge and there is all sorts of stuff for kids to climb and jump on. There are trampolines, balance beams, foam pits, rings, and bars. Mabel's favorite were the mini-trampolines that had a bar to hang on to for maximum jumping height. She hasn't figured out how to jump on her own yet, so the bar helped her out. She also really liked throwing herself down on all the mats. She took quite a few trips down the balance beam too.

I have a feeling this will be a frequently visited place.

Still sick...

Ugh with a capital U.

M is still sick. We went back to the doctor on Monday. M's ear infections are gone which is good news. There is also no fluid in her lungs - more good news. The problem is that she still has the nastiest cough that is keeping her (and us) up at night. And because she isn't sleeping well at night, she is a mess all day. And isn't napping well either. By the end of tonight she was screaming bloody murder and fell asleep in about 2 seconds. Hopefully the Tylenol will gave her will help her - and us - get some sleep.

Poor bug.

At it again

Illness has hit the house again. Brett was sick, then I was, now it has finally hit poor M. She was up coughing last night with her final wake up at 5:30. From there she and I hung out in the rocking chair for a while. When I tried to put her down she said the saddest little sweet "no" that I had ever heard and wrapped her legs around me. So we obviously sat back in the chair. Then we moved to the guest bed. Then we went downstairs and had some yogurt. Then we tried out the bed in the basement. Clearly M was meant to be blond because she was quite the Goldilocks last night.

We went to the doctor today and she has double ear infections and a nasty cold. Good news is her lungs were clear.
